The rimmer includes one tier to hold a sponge soaked in lime juice or another liquid, one tier for salt, and one tier for sugar. The tiers rotate around a central pivot and can be closed to arrange the tiers above one another, making it space-efficient and keeping the ingredients neatly organized. Each compartment is labeled to ensure the right ingredient is used. The rimmer is dishwasher safe and designed for use in temperatures from 32°F to 160°F (0°C to 71°C).
