The Edlund #1S "Old Reliable" Manual Can Opener is now more reliable than before. It has a stainless steel base that fits cans up to 7 inches tall. A special plastic part (Delrin spool) reduces friction on the handle, making it easier to open cans without wearing out the opener. The base is redesigned to be sturdier, and the metal rod (arbor) that the cutting mechanism spins on is coated with a special rust-resistant material (Melonite) for easier replacement if needed. Plus, a replaceable plastic base insert allows the opener to glide smoothly, reducing wear on the main part of the opener that opens the cans (opener shaft). Made in the U.S.A.
