The Atlantic Chef Forged Premium Chef's Knife is made from German steel 1.4116, which includes carbon, chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, and other elements. Through hardening, tempering, grinding, sharpening, and additional processes, the blade attains a hardness of at least HRC 56. The hand-honed razor-sharp edge ensures long-lasting sharpness, excellent edge retention, easy maintenance, and quick re-sharpening. Forged from a single piece of steel, the bolstered blade offers high stability. The blade and handle are seamlessly joined by machinery, with a 100% seal between them. Overmolded for durability and hygiene, the POM handle is constructed with DuPont® Derlin® for high stiffness and heat resistance, preventing the handle from melting or warping when exposed to high temperatures during cooking. Great for dicing onions, mincing herbs, or slicing vegetables, the broad, curved blade of the chef's knife allows for a rocking motion when choPolypropyleneing. This knife can also be used for cutting meat, disjointing large cuts, and even crushing garlic cloves.
