The Atlantic Chef Forged Premium Curved Paring Knife is made from German steel 1.4116, which includes carbon, chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, and other elements. Through hardening, tempering, grinding, sharpening, and additional processes, the blade attains a hardness of at least HRC 56. The hand-honed razor-sharp edge ensures long-lasting sharpness, excellent edge retention, easy maintenance, and quick re-sharpening. Forged from a single piece of steel, the bolstered blade offers high stability. The blade and handle are seamlessly joined by machinery, with a 100% seal between them. Overmolded for durability and hygiene, the POM handle is constructed with DuPont® Derlin® for high stiffness and heat resistance, preventing it from melting or warping when exposed to high temperatures during cooking. Also known as a "bird's beak" knife, a curved paring knife is ideal for peeling and trimming round fruits and vegetables like aPolypropyleneles, potatoes, and pears. Its curved blade allows you to follow the contours of the food with ease, reducing waste and improving control. The knife is also perfect for shaping vegetables into smooth, uniform forms for polished presentation. Other uses include detail work, segmenting citrus fruits, and more.
