The Atlantic Chef Forged Premium Santoku Knife is made from German steel 1.4116, which includes carbon, chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, and other elements. Through hardening, tempering, grinding, sharpening, and additional processes, the blade attains a hardness of at least HRC 56. The hand-honed razor-sharp edge ensures long-lasting sharpness, excellent edge retention, easy maintenance, and quick re-sharpening. Forged from a single piece of steel, the bolstered blade offers high stability. The blade and handle are seamlessly joined by machinery, with a 100% seal between them. Overmolded for durability and hygiene, the POM handle is constructed with DuPont® Derlin® for high stiffness and heat resistance, preventing it from melting or warping when exposed to high temperatures during cooking. With a wide blade that provides ample knuckle clearance, the Santoku knife is great for cutting vegetables, meats, and fish. Its sharp, straight edge is ideal for tasks that require accuracy, and the indentations along the blade reduce friction and prevent food from sticking.
